I really liked this book in the beginning. I liked the characters and the flashbacks. I kept waiting for things to happen in the present timeline but nothing did, more flashback and still no action or progression in the main timeline. I kept waiting to get top the end of the flashbacks to have everything finally explained but I just found myself getting more confused and more lost.
Then factor in the confusing dialogue, repetition of the two main characters names, and the over use of ellipses I I really liked this book in the beginning. And to top it all off there were a few side characters that really served no purpose and contributed to almost nothing plus no character growth in any character, including the main two. The entire story was very two dimensional and had a timeline that was too complicated and long winded to be effective. Mar 22, Michelle rated it it was ok Shelves: For example, the idea of "Keepers" is key to this series, but neither this book nor the next offer much explanation on the origin of these guardians, and the only other Keepers that Galen and Rob encounter are long dead.
Both brothers are likable, and the writing style itself is easy to read and engaging -- so although "The Legacy" sort of feels like Supernatural fanfic, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Dec 05, Sharyn rated it really liked it Shelves: What a fantastic book! Not too much blood and gore and no swearing and just good old fashioned writing. Even though I knew there were 2 books to come after this one, it was still suspenseful to see if everyone would come out ok. The dialogue between the brothers was a bit confusing at times because of their 'connection' but it fit in well as some of the other characters said the same thing.

That could be becuase I am a relatively fast reader and wasn't really concentrating on who was saying what. I was trying to read fast so I could see what happened! Now on to the next book in the series. I was going to read the 'prequel' next but didn't want to possibly ruin a good series. Apr 30, Keith Weller rated it it was amazing. A brothers love nearly severs a remarkable bond forever. I was immediately captivated by these two powerful siblings, Galen and Rob, who come to life in this action adventure. Intrigue, mysticism, family, friendship and bad ass creatures abound as they fight and embrace their destinies to become part of an ancient Legacy. Dec 10, Lauren rated it it was amazing. But the world is changing, things are stirring that haven't seen the light of the sun for epochs. The oldest family of Custodes Noctis, the Emrys, have fought on the side of the Light for thousands of years. Now, Rob Emrys is being called by something sinister and unseen, a command he must obey. While his brother, Galen, desperately attempts to save his brother, Rob finds himself unwillingly summoned to what could very possibly be his death—or worse. The Legacy (Custodes Noctis, #1) by Muffy Morrigan
Lists with This Book. This novella was a quick, fun read. Because it is part of a series, I think there were bits of story I was missing, since I haven't read any of the other books, but it was a good story unto itself. They also happen to be part of a family who have helped to fight the evil in the world for generations.
